Day labourer dies from electrocution in capital
A day labourer was killed as he was electrocuted yesterday while he was pulling down a billboard in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of the capital.
The deceased, Enamul Islam, 25, was pulling down the billboard at about 1:00pm to change the advertisement just opposite Asad Gate bus stoppage.
Golam Morshed, who took Enamul to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Enamul was electrocuted when an iron bar of the billboard came in contact with an electric wire connected to an electric pole.
Doctors at DMCH declared him dead, he said.
Sher-e-Bangla police said they are investigating the matter.
