Obituary
Soyambhu Sarkar, former teacher of Amrita Lal Dey College in the city and lead artist of Gono Shilpi Sangstha Barisal unit, died in National Heart Foundation Hospital, Dhaka on Thursday night. He was 48.
He left behind his wife, one son, one daughter and a lot of relatives and admirers.
Sarkar was familiar with patriotic songs and songs for the masses.
On arrival of his body at the college, different socio-cultural, political and professional organisations placed wraths at his coffin yesterday morning.
Later, the body was sent to his Chitalmari village in Bagerhat for cremation.
