War crimes trial restored historic narrative of 1971
Says Prof Muntasir Mamun
With bringing the collaborators of Pakistani occupation army to justice, the historic narrative of 1971 has finally been restored, said Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee (EGDNC) Acting President Prof Muntasir Mamun yesterday.
The BNP-Jamaat and their like minded people tried to remove the memory of 1971 from the mind of the nation, he said.
He was delivering the Kabir Chowdhury Memorial Speech 2 at Bilia auditorium in the capital.
EGDNC organised the event marking the 91st birth anniversary of the late national professor.
Mentioning that history is a way of controlling mind of people, Prof Mamun underscored the need for studying history.
"After a lot of sufferings we brought history on our side. But Quader Mollah's verdict and the alliance between different corrupt politicians make me think that the 1975, Jamaat's US Dollars, the miscreants are still powerful," he said.
Law under which trials of the war criminals are being conducted should be amended to ensure maximum punishment for razakars, he opined.
With Justice Syed Amirul Islam in the chair, Prof Mesbah Kamal and journalist Shahin Reza Noor were also present on the occasion.
