BBA students of SUST start fast unto death
BBA students of the Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) yesterday besieged the vice-chancellor's office and began fast unto death on the campus with a demand for sending the department head Prof Nazrul Islam on a four-year compulsory leave.
Earlier, the SUST authorities sent Nazrul Islam on a "sick leave" and made Syed Tafiq Mahmud Hasan the acting head of the department on January 30 amid demonstration of the students who brought allegations, including irregularities and misbehaviour, against Nazrul.
Nazrul threatened that he will not publish the final semester result of the 10th batch unless he is given the charge again, claimed the students.
