US to open up more for Bangladeshi students
Says Ann Stock
United States Assistant Secretary of State Ann Stock yesterday said her government is keen to open up more opportunities for Bangladeshi students to study in US institutions of higher education.
The US will continue to help the students navigate in the US educational institutions to facilitate intimate engagement between the youths of both the countries, she told a media roundtable at the American Center in the capital.
Asked whether the US has any target how many Bangladeshi students to be enrolled in educational institutions, she said, “We want to make it as high as we can.â€
The US government is working on a 10-year plan for its engagement in Bangladesh's education sector, she added.
Dhaka US Embassy officials also informed reporters that the US has no plan to restrict Bangladeshi citizens from getting student visas.
