Child deaths up in CHT
Speakers in a discussion held here on Thursday said child mortality rate in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) is higher than that of other districts in the country.
This is because of what they said 30 per cent children of Chittagong Hill Tracts did not receive Vitamin A capsule from government and NGOs till date.
Khagrachhari civil surgeon's (CS) office and Integrated Development Foundation jointly organised the discussion. Held at the auditorium of Parjatan Motel here, it was presided by Khagrachhari CS Dr Abu Taher. Khagrachhari Hill District Council chairman Monindra Lal Tripura was present as chief guest.
