Tributes to Satkhira FF
Speakers at a condolence meeting here yesterday paid rich tributes to Ashraful Alam Tutu, a valiant freedom fighter, progressive politician and development activist.
They said people will remember him with gratitude for his contribution to development activities in south-western coastal areas.
Ashraful Alam, executive director of the Coastal Development Partnership (CDP), an NGO, died of heart attack on March 12.
A large number of people from all walks of life attended the Nagarik Shok Sava (citizens' condolence meeting), held at Satkhira Pourasava auditorium. Advocate Abdur Rahim was in the chair.
It was addressed by, among others, Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate, Principal Asit Kumar Majumdar, freedom fighters Prof. Abu Ahmed, Abu Bakar Siddique, Abul Khair and MA Khaleque and journalist Kalyan Bannerjee.
The meeting also prayed for peace and salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
