Thousands join anti-graft rally in Netrakona

Thousands of people in 10 upazilas yesterday joined at an anti-corruption procession here which was led by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Hasan Mashud Chowdhury. Netrakona district Anti-corruption Committee organized the grand procession. Processionists carried colourful banners and festoons with them. Before the procession, at rally was held at Muktarpara playground where Gen Mashud declared, 'We want to establish a corruption-free society.' He also urged people from all walks of life to resist corruption in all spheres of life. Netrakona District Anti-Corruption Committee president Dr MA Hamid presided the rally while it was addressed by, among others, ACC director general Abu Taleb Mia as special guest. After the procession, the ACC chairman thanked people of Netrakona for their spontaneous participation in the rally.
