ACC case against Coco's business partner
The Anti Corruption Commission has filed a case against Arafat Rahman Coco's business partner Sheikh Farid Ahmad Manik, also a BNP leader, with Chandpur model police station for violating ACC Act '04, police sources said.
Comilla ACC deputy director Md Golam Mustafa filed the case on Wednesday accusing Manik for failure to submit his wealth statements within the stipulated time (November 27, 2007) despite taking time for the same from ACC. It is a violation of ACC Act '04, he said, he said.
When contacted, Chandpur model police station officer-in-charge (OC) Nur Nabi confirmed the incident saying Manik might be arrested any time. He said Manik is an influential BNP leader who accumulated wealth illegally.
