'Listed criminal' Kalu held in Barisal
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested road transport leader and alleged drug peddler Abul Kalam Kalu Monday night and recovered arms, ammunition and explosives from his possession.
Rab sources said a team led by ASP Md. Shahed raided CharKawa village in Barisal Sadar upazila and arrested Kalu, former president of Charkawa Bus Owners Association.
Acting on his confession, RAB recovered one pipe gun, one pistol, two hand bombs, gunpowder and other bomb making materials, seven masks and some sharp weapons. He was handed over to Barisal Kotwali police.
