Seven persons including four cadres of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have been accused in the case for kidnap and murder of schoolboy Abdullah. Abdullah, a student of class five, did not return home after he went out of their house in Kalbakhani area of the city in the afternoon of March 18. His body was recovered on the next day from Kazitola Dighi (water body), about half a kilometre away. His shirt and pant were recovered from Kolbakhani area on the same day. The victim's father Samaj Ali filed a case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court here Monday afternoon as Sylhet Kotwali police earlier recorded the murder case as a UD case. The accused are JCD cadres Sunai Miah, Salai, Shukur and Zuber and Samaj Ali's neighbour Anwar Ali, his wife Panna Begum and Panna's mother Banu bibi. Samaj Ali in his case alleged hat his wife Anwara Begum had a quarrel with their neighbour Banu Bibi and her daughter Panna over a trivial matter days before his minor son was kidnapped. On the following day, the JCD cadres picked up 11 year-old Abdullah from near their house, Samaj Ali claimed in his complaint. In the case filed with the CMM court, Samaj Ali also prayed for a fresh autopsy of the body and converting the UD case into a regular murder case. The CJM ordered investigation and filing of a fresh case.
