Arrest warrant against KCC chief engineer
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Barakuzzaman has issued warrant of arrest against suspended chief engineer of Khulna City Corporation Liaquat Ali Sharif.
The judge issued the order on Monday as the suspended chief Engineer of KCC did not appear for deposition in the court as one of the chargesheetd prosecution witnesses in an extortion case filed with Khulna Sadar police station on November 2 last year by suspended official of KCC's MSP project SM Hafizur Rahman as complainant.
The detained KCC Mayor Sheikh Tayebur Rahman was present during ongoing trial of the extortion case, first among eight others, in the court on Monday.
