Godown official held for fertiliser scam in Gaibandha
An in-charge of buffer stock fertiliser godown was suspended yesterday and arrested for alleged misappropriation of fertiliser.
The action was taken Abul Hossain, after a team of joint forces during checking found anomalies,
A case was also filed against him with Gaibandha police station. But police could not say what quantity of fertiliser was misappropriated.
Officer-in-charge of Gaibandha police station Afijul Islam said they are investigating the allegation.
Maj. Mizan of joint forces in Gaibandha told journalists that the present stock position of fertiliser in the district is sufficient to meet the requirement during Boro season.
