Arrest warrant against UNO
A Barisal court issued arrest warrant against Munim Hassan, now upazila nirbahi officer of Mollarhut under Bagerhat district, as he failed to appear before the court in connection with a criminal case even after being summoned for 12 times.
Abul Hossain Bepari, judge of Barisal Women and Children Repression Prevention Court, issued the warrant through the deputy commissioner of Barisal on Thursday afternoon giving orders to present the UNO before the court within May 15.
The UNO, Munim Hassan earlier worked as a magistrate in Barisal city.
He had recorded the statement of a woman who was hacked by two persons after their failed rape bid on August 7, 2004.
After trial of the case started in the Women and Children Repression Prevention Court, he failed to appear before the court even after being summoned for 12 times, court sources said.
