<i>Cellphone 'theft' costs a life</i>

It was all over theft of a mobile phone. A man was killed and five others sustained injuries in a fierce clash between two groups at village Jagodishpur in Gobindagnaj upazila on Sunday. After a mobile set of Sukur Ali of village Jogidihpur under Gobindaganj upazila went missing from his house, he suspected neighbour Tajul Islam as the thief, police said. Asked about the matter, Tajul flew into rage and he along with a few associates attacked Sukur Ali and gave him a sound beating. Sukur Ali's relatives rushed to the spot and a fierce clash between the two groups left six people injured. Seriously injured Moyenuddin, 37, was rushed to Bogra Medical College Hospital, where he died early hours yesterday. The other injured persons were taken to the local health complex. Following a case filed with Gobindaganj Police Station, two persons were arrested in this connection.
