Outlaw killed in shootout with Rab in Pabna

A hardened outlaw of PBCP (Purba Banglar Communist Party- Red Flag) was killed in a shootout with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the criminal's cohorts in Salaipur village in Goaishpur union under Pabna Sadar upazila in the early hours of yesterday. Rab recovered three firearms and bullets from the spot. Two members of Rab were injured in the incident, Rab sources said. The killed outlaw--Md. Shimul Pramanik, 38 of Puspopara village in Ataikula upazila under Sadar upazila-- was Pabna district unit commander of PBCP, Rab said. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Rab-12 raided the village at about 1 am yesterday when the criminals were holding a secret meeting. The two injured Rab members are I Md. Wahed Ali and Uzzol Hossain. The recovered arms are a point 22 revolver, a pipe gun, a shutter gun and 7 bullets.
