Bangalees, ethnic people clash in Dighinala: 7 hurt
At lest seven people including a child were injured in a clash between indigenous and Bangalee people at remote Rashiknaghor village in Dighinala upazila in Khagrachhari in a land dispute yesterday.
All the injured were admitted to Dighinala Upazila Health Complex and two of them were later shifted to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital.
Locals and police said the clashes began at about 9 am when some Bangalee people went to Rashiknaghor Hindu Para (near rubber garden area) to clear shrubs to build houses on their five-acre lands given by the then government in 1980s. Being informed, army from Dighinala zonal camp, police and Ansar members rushed to the spot and stopped the violence.
Dighinala UNO Mohammad Moniruzzaman Mia along with army officials visited the spot.
