Two held for pasting posters against Pahela Baisakh
Police Friday night arrested two persons from Rangpur Medical College area in the town while pasting posters with 'fatwa' against observance of Pahela Baishkh.
The arrested are Achirul Hoque of Bhojonpur in Tetulia upazila in Panchagorh and Rashedul of Guptapara in Rangpur Sadar upazila.
Police said they introduced themselves to tem as followers of peer of Rajarbag in Dhaka.
The posters read: Don't offer janaja prayer for the dead person who observe Pahela Baishakh.
It also read: Observance of Pahela Baishakh is equal to divorce of wife.
