3 killers arrested in B'baria
The clue to the murder of a train attendant was found one month after the incident following arrest of three killers by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) Saturday night.
The arrested persons are Sujat Khan of Punnyout village under Brahmanbaria municipality, Maharam Ali of Radhanagar village in Akhaura upazila and Babu of Sarail upazila.
Government railway police (GRP) sources told this correspondent yesterday that several teams of law enforcing agencies were trying to find the clue to the murder.
Tipped-off, a Rab team led by Lt. Commander Majharul Haque, commanding officer of Bhairab Rab camp, raided Punnyout village and arrested Sujat Khan, 35.
Acting on his confession, Rab members arrested two Maharam Ali, 20 and Babu, 24.
They will be produced before court in a day or two to ecord their statement, police said.
Two others were arrested earlier and sent to Brahmanbaria jail custody.
Contacted, Md. Wahiduzzamn, investigation officer (IO) of the murder case, said the killers confessed to their involvement in the murder.
Sujat told police that on the night of March 11, he and four others bought five tickets from Chittagong railway station and boarded the Chittagong Mail train in the guise of passengers. As the train crossed Comilla station at around 2.30 am, they started robbing passengers.
They stabbed one passenger--Abdur Rauf, killed attendant Md. Samsul Haque and kept the body in the toilet of the compartment.
They got down at Imambari station. A case was filed in this connection with GRP police station at Akhaura junction.
Earlier, JC Mandal, guard of Turna Nishita express train, was killed by miscreants about four month back. The killers are yet to be arrested.
