Police arrested three bullet-hit criminals including the gang leader and recovered arms after a shootout in Jessore
SI Sabbir of Jessore Kotwali police station was also injured during the incident.
Tipped off that criminals were holding a meeting at around 11:30pm, police raided the rail gate area when the criminals opened fire, prompting the law enforcers to retaliate, police said.
After a shoot-out for 15 minutes police arrested Mensale and his accomplices Ratan and Nayan with bullet injuries while their cohorts managed to flee.
Police recovered a revolver, four bullets and a billhook from the spot.
SI Sabbir, who received a bullet in his knee during the shoot-out, has been admitted to Jessore Sadar Hospital.
Mensale is accused in several cases with Jessore Police Station, said Officer-in-Charge Abul Bashar.
