Case against Pabna jail super sent to ACC
The case against Pabna jail superintendent Md. Rejaul Karim and two other jail officials for taking bribe has been shifted to Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC Deputy Director in Pabna Md. Abdul Goffar said yesterday they got the case documents and will seek higher authorities' permission for investigation.
Pabna Jail Keeper Md. Akteruzzaman had filed the case with Pabna Sadar police station on Thursday. The two others are Subedar Md. Ishhaq Ali and Jail Keeper Md. Azizul Islam.
In the case it was alleged that that the jail superintendent took Tk 1 lakh and allowed relatives and others to meet Bera municipality chairman Md Abdul Baten in jail, violating jail code.
They allowed seven people including a commissioner of Bera municipality and an engineer to meet Md Abdul Baten, who also signed some official documents in jail.
Baten was arrested by joint forces on March 19 for alleged corruption and misappropriation of fund.
