Badhon conducts free blood group test
Rajshahi University (RU) unit of Badhon, a voluntary blood donation organization, arranged a daylong free blood group test programme on the premises of Rabindra Arts building to celebrate its fourth founding anniversary on Thursday.
RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Altaf Hossain inaugurated the programme as chief guest.
Every student should know his blood group and every able-bodied person should donate blood in case of need, Prof Altaf said in his inauguration speech.
After the inaugural session, members of Bhadhon brought out a colorful procession with banner and placards and paraded different streets on the RU campus.
Later, they set up a large camp in front of Rabindra Arts building where 1,200 students got their blood group tested free of cost.
Bhadhon activists also held a motivation session to encourage students to donate blood for people in need.
Earlier, Badhon held a discussion meeting as part of a programme to motivate people for blood group test and create awareness about HIV/AIDS.
