Education officer charge-sheeted
The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has pressed charges against Sadar upazila education officer Samsunnahar Begum in a case for taking bribe from a schoolteacher.
The investigation officer (IO) of the case, Aminur Rahman, ACC Assistant Director (AD) of Khulna region, submitted the charge sheet against her to the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court at Satkhira on Thursday.
Samsunnahar Begum was suspended soon after her arrested by the joint forces for taking Tk 1,000 as bribe from schoolteacher Nasima Irani Banu to release her stopped salary on March 14 last year.
Nasima's husband Maniruzzaman filed the case with Sadar Police Station against the education officer the same day.
Later the case was transferred to ACC and ACC AD Aminur Rahman was made IO of the case.
