Tk 2cr rural projects kick off in Satkhira
The government has taken up 326 projects involving over Tk 2 crore under its 'Taka for Work Project' in seven upazilas of the district to create jobs for the rural poor.
The projects to be implemented in the current financial year include repair of kutcha roads, re-excavation of ponds, earth filling work and reconstruction of mosques, temples and educational institutions.
Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Md Kefayetullah inaugurated the project at Kalaroa yesterday.
A worker will get Tk 150 a day under the project, official sources said. At least 4,482 male and 60 female workers will benefit from the projects, sources said.
