Rab seizes bombs, bullets, drugs, Indian currency
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday seized 20 bullets of .22 rifle, nine local-made bombs, 20 Indian 500-rupee notes, 130 bottles of phensidyl from Chapainawabganj, Gaibandha and Dinajpuir districts and arrested eight people.
Rab also destroyed huge quantity of recovered drugs including 5127 bottles of Indian phensidyl, eight-litre liquid phensidyl, 49 bottles of local liquor, 2.5kg marijuana on the playground of Science and Industries Research Centre in Rajshahi city yesterday.
Rab seized 20 bullets of .22 rifle, nine cocktails, a plastic bullet box, 20 Indian 500 Rupee notes, 22 phensidyl bottles from Mrs Amin Trade Agency and arrested six people at Huzrapur in Chapainawabganj in this connection yesterday, say a Rab press release.
The arrestees are trade agency owner Robiul Awal, Ruhul Amin, Liakat Ali, Mithu Mai, Arif Hossain and Khairul Islam, Rab said, adding that they later handed over the arrestees to Chapainawabganj Police Station.
Another Rab team seized 50 bottles of Indian phensidyl from Konchipara under Gaibandha district and arrested two drug traders.
Rab seized eight bottles of Indian Phensidyl from Dhonardaha Bazaar in Dinajpur district.
