RU BCL rally demands Hasina's release
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Rajshahi University yesterday staged demonstration on the campus demanding immediate release of Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina for the sake of establishing democracy in the country.
The BCL RU unit leaders also demanded release of other AL central leaders and BCL leaders.
They also demanded immediate lifting of the state of emergency and trial of the war criminals by special tribunal.
BCL RU also formed a human chain in front of the Central Library to press home the demand.
Later at a rally, BCL leaders urged the government to withdraw all cases against Hasina and send her abroad for treatment.
BCL leaders also demanded security of female students and teachers on the campus, initiative to hold Rajshahi University Central Students Union (RUCSU) election, withdrawal of restriction on cultural programmes on RU campus, and immediate ban on political activities of Jamaat-Shibir.
