5 govt doctors sued for illegal private practice in Satkhira
A case was filed yesterday with Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court accusing five government physicians of earning money by illegal private practices.
The court ordered the Sadar Police Station officer in charge (OC) to take action against the accused after investigation into the case.
The accused physicians are Dr Mamunur Rashid, asthma, chest disease and diabetic consultant of Satkhira Chest Disease Hospital, Dr Iqbal Hasan, a junior consultant of Satkhira Sadar Hospital, and Dr Shahiduzzaman, a medicine consultant, Dr Habibur Rahman, Sadar upazila health officer, and Dr Abul Fazal, medical officer of Satkhira Civil Surgeon's Office.
Dr Kamruzzaman of Khulna Diagnostic Centre at Amtala intersection in the town filed the case.
He alleged that being government officials, the accused have amassed huge money by illegally practising in private clinics.
He also alleged that the accused started conspiracy against him as he submitted an allegation against the accused.
When contacted, the five doctors accused in the case said the allegations against them are false.
