9 tonnes of wheat seized in Patuakhali
Baufal police seized nine tonnes of wheat meant for 'Food for Work' projects as it was being sold in the black market from a wooden trawler on Thursday.
Baufal upazila administration allotted nine tonnes of wheat for different 'Food for Work' projects in Kachipara, Surjomoni and Kalishuri unions under the upazila in Patuakhali district but chairmen of the project committees did not arrange any work for the purpose, police said.
They managed delivery of the wheat by submitting fake master roll registers and were trying to sell it in black market.
