CU Syndicate condemns Shibir assault on proctor
Chittagong University (CU) Syndicate yesterday condemned the attack on two proctors of the university and formed a three-member probe committee two investigate the matter.
The syndicate formed the committee at an emergency meeting held with CU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Badiul Alam in the chair.
The committee headed by Biological Science Faculty Dean Professor Dr Atiqur Rahman was also asked to submit its probe report by May 15.
Other members of the committee are Law Faculty Dean Mohammed Zakir Hossain and Deputy Registrar Ahsan Uddin Kabri.
Leaders of CU Teachers' Association in a statement yesterday also condemned the attack and demanded punishment of the culprit involved in the incident.
An activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) assaulted Assistant Proctor Mohammad Alam Chowdhury on Saturday. Some ICS activists also manhandled Proctor Prof Jasim Uddin on Wednesday on the campus.
