Illegal factory found, fake lubricant worth Tk 20 lakh seized
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday discovered an adulterate and fake lubricant factory from an under-ground godown at the town.
Rab seized spurious lubricant worth Tk 20 lakh and arrested factory manager Rasel Uzzaman.
Zakir Hossain Tito, who rented the under-ground godown from PDP district convener Babul Joarder, and had been preparing adulterated mobil for long in the name of Z-Z Overseas company.
Acting on a tip, Rab raided the house near Kushtia bus stand at the town at 4:00pmand recovered a lot of barrels and containers containing spurious lubricant worth Tk 20 lakh, said Jhenidah Rab commander Major Tarek and Sub-director Abul Kalam Azad.
Rab arrested factory manager Rasel Uzzaman while factory owner Zakir Hossain Tito managed to escape.
Contacted, PDP convener Babul Joarder said Tito rented the godown for Tk 3,000 per month from him to run their business but he does not know anything else in this regard.
