Trader rescued, 3 outlaws held
Police arrested three extremists belonging to outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (Janajuddho) from Syed Mahalla under Fakirhat upazila in Bagerhat district and rescued a trader kidnapped by them on Tuesday midnight.
They arrestees -- Zulfiqar Ali Ripon, 36, Khan Mehadi Hasan Bipul, 28, and Md Selim Mallick, 30, -- had abducted trader Kazi Masud for ransom of Tk one lakh.
Tipped off, police raided the house and rescued Kazi Masud from there, police said. Police also seized Tk 21,000 from one of the arrestees.
