Freedom fighter protests his name in Jamaat's so-called FF body
Freedom Fighter Sheikh Zahur Ali of Sanka village in Kaliganj upazila in a statement yesterday protested inclusion of his name in the Satkhira district committee of so-called Jatiya Muktijoddha Parishad formed by Jamaat-e-Islami.
He said the committee in Satkhira was formed with Jamaat men, none of whom was freedom fighter. Their names were included in the list of freedom fighters during BNP-Jamaat rule, he said.
Expressing his surprise at inclusion of his name in the committee, he said, the anti-liberation Jamaat has formed the committee by taking in fake freedom fighters when the nation is demanding trial of war criminals. This is a hoax and an attempt to divert people's attention from the demand.
He also urged the government to try war criminals by forming a special tribunal.
