One gets 46 years for rape, abduction
A Satkhira court yesterday sentenced a man to 46 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a girl after abduction.
The convict, Mintu Gazi, 21, of village Pratapnagar in Assassuni upazila, got life term imprisonment for raping a class nine student of Pratapnagar Madrasa in April 2006.
The court also fined him Tk 50,000 in default to suffer two years more RI.
The convict got 14 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 20,000 in default six months more RI for abducting the girl on April 10 in 2006, court sources said.
The victim's father Nazrul Islam filed the case with Assassuni thana.
