Bomb-making materials, arms recovered
Police yesterday recovered arms and bomb-making materials and arrested a suspected woman from her house at Bihoroil-Kalitala village in Kamargaon of Tanore upazila.
Kulsum Begum, 35, wife of late Abdur Rahman was arrested two days after explosions occurred at her house leaving two of her children injured.
Police have suspected Kulsum to be a woman member of an outlawed party.
A big ramda, a knife, gunpowder, grinding stone and other bomb-making materials were seized from the house.
Two bombs exploded with a big bang at Kulsum's house, two kilometre off Chowbaria in Naogaon district Friday night. Outlaws killed four policemen in Chowbaria in 2006.
After the explosion, neighbours rushed to the scene, rescued two children Rubel, 6, and Rubina, 10 who received splinter wounds.
The explosion occurred from bombs kept at a school bag inside a room.
But Kulsum did not allow her children to go to hospital with the neighbours. She also did not inform police after the incident. Next morning, she allegedly rubbed off explosion marks from the room.
Later, Circle ASP Moazzem Hossain visited the spot. A case was filed yesterday evening.
