Bounty for information on absconding outlaws
Chuadanga police announced reward for providing information to law enforcers on three absconding outlaws who broke out of Chuadanga jail Thursday night, police said.
An amount of Tk 5,000 will be given as reward for providing information on each fugitive to police.
The three outlaws are Akthruzzaman Sohag, 38, Jorap Ali alias Bachchu, 32, and Asiqur Rahman Tagar, 36.
The announcement was made as the law forcers could not progress in tracking down the three, police said.
'The initiative was taken to hunt down the outlaws,' Chuadanga superintendent of police (SP) Mafiz Uddin told journalists yesterday.
The reward money will be paid from the personal fund the SP, he said.
The probe committee formed by the Public Works Department (PWD) visited Chuadanga jail yesterday to enquire into allegations of faulty construction of the jail building built last year. The committee will submit its report as soon as possible.
Another probe body led by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG-Prison) of Rajshahi Maj Hafiz submitted its report to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sunday night blaming faulty construction of the jail building, shortage of jail guards and negligence in duty for the jailbreak.
Earlier, another probe committee formed by Chuadanga district administration submitted its report on Saturday citing same reasons behind jailbreak.
A total of three probe committees were formed to find out the loophole in the security system leading to the jailbreak.
