Friday's Clash with Rab
6 sent to jail in Kushtia
A court here yesterday sent six people including two women to jail who were arrested by members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Friday in connection with a villagers' clash with the elite force on the same day at Bahalbaria village in Mirpur upazila.
They are Bahalbaria union parishad (UP) chairman Amirul Islam Bannu, 55, Rokeya Khatun, 25, Arzoo Khatun, 22, Siblu 30, Gahar Ali, 45, and Masum, 25.
At least 45 people were injured in the clash that ensued when Rab member went there to rescue an abducted man.
