Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people (Abraham Lincoln). Democracy is the ruling system by which the will of general citizens gets priority in governmental activities. Democracy helps to foster or sustain the process of good governance which is the latest element of development in the third world countries. But it has not taken roots in many societies, including ours.
