<i>Public universities</i>
I have gone through some constructive letters from our readers on the universities, that are really good. The topics vary, like male-female teacher ratio in university, VC from same university, politics in university etc. Thanks to every writer for their good contribution. Really, we need to think seriously about quality education in the university. As it is the place where future generations are developed to lead our nation. Although, Mr. Obama is not white but the most important matter is that he is from Harvard University. I also want to add three more points in this regard. Open a department for TOEFL, GRE and IELTS exams. It is very much necessary to have a good English score to obtain any scholarship or fellowship abroad. Compared to Indians and Pakistanis, our students' English skill is not up to the mark. Moreover, we need a good officer in every office with a strong English background, especially in secretariat. Some teachers can be recruited on part time basis from the USA, Canada, and England. Another point--stop the teachers from doing part time jobs in different private universities. It hinders imparting of quality education. Students are deprived of quality education and research, as teachers remain busy otherwise. The third point, promotion of university teachers on the basis of publications should be considered very seriously. We thought that the present caretaker government would do something for improving the standard of education in universities. But we have not noticed any change so far.
