Bangladesh has the largest number of poor people in the world after China and India. About 49.8 percent people don't earn even one hundred taka a day. Most of the people live in rural areas. Especially, the people of rural areas are deprived of their fundamental rights. Rural development will depend on rural women. In Bangladesh, the wage of a woman in the agriculture sector is 70 percent and in the non-agricultural sector 42 percent of what a man gets. Women are playing an active role in the rural development of our country. So we have to ensure their equal rights.
