Unkind remarks
I must protest the letter by Nur Jahan (DS, November 4, 2008) where she states that if Obama is defeated in the election, it will prove that Americans are racists. This kind of thinking is a product of a racist and narrow mindset and makes no logical sense.
Ms. Jahan is essentially saying that those who are voting for Obama are doing so because he is black. There are certain segments of the population that are using race as a litmus test, but the majority are voting for him because they see something beyond his skin colour.
