RU cultural activists wear black badges from today

Different political, cultural and student organisations strongly criticised the Rajshahi University (RU) authorities for banning activities of Dhumketu Natya Sangsad, a theatre group, under pressure of Islami Chhatra Shibir yesterday. Cultural activists held a protest meeting at the Chhatra Union tent. They decided to wear black badges on the campus from today. They will also organise streets drama for the admission seekers. They demanded immediate resignation of proctor Enamul Haque for patronising Shibir. They also demanded exemplary punishment to Shibir cadres who threatened Udichi general secretary Abu Sayem to death and harassed its activist Hosne Ara Farzana recently. They urged all progressive student organisation to get united to launch a tougher agitation against the fundamentalist forces in near future.
