7 arrested for selling fake question
Seven youths including a few students of Rajshahi University (RU) have been arrested in connection with selling fake question papers and taking money upon promise to ensure admission to the university
General students captured two youths in front of the Central Shaheed Minar as they were collecting money from the admission seekers promising sure admission at the Law and Justice Department on Thursday.
The youths are Nabiudola, an agriculture diploma student of Natore and Mezbahul Haque, a student of Khulna Azam Khan Commerce College. Later, they were handed over to police.
After their confession, police raided several houses in different parts of the city and arrested five other youths for their involvement in selling fake admission question papers and giving proxy for other students.
They arrestees are Tarek Hassan Porosh, Tarek Mahmud, both third year students of Law and Justice Department, Humayun Kabir Mithun, a second year student of the same department, his wife Chaiti, also an applicant and Tawhid Ahmed, a fourth year student of Rajshahi Medical College.
Police also recovered 50 admit cards, 30 blank admission forms, 120 rubber stumps of various departments, test papers, question papers, photos of admission seekers and a large quantity of hemp from their possession.
Legal action will be taken against them, Proctor Enamul Haque said.
