480 of 811 polling centres in Bogra district risky
Bogra district election office declared 480 of the 811 polling centres in seven constituencies in the district as risky for the upcoming general election.
Bogra district police find 502 risky polling centres out of 828 centres in 12 upazilas in the district for the next upazila election.
The risky polling centres in the district for parliament and upazila elections stands at 60.63 percent and 59.19 percent respectively.
District election officials said the highly risky polling centres have been identified in
Bogra-5 constituency (Dhunat-Sherpur) has the highest 92 (out of 146) risky polling centres while 50 of them are highly risky, election office sources said.
Bogra district police officials yesterday told The Daily Star that local administration has decided to ensure additional armed forces for the risky polling centres for the next parliament and upazila elections.
Eleven members of law enforcers will be deployed in each of 331 normal polling centres for the general election. The same number of law enforcers will be deployed for the next upazila elections in 326 polling centres in 12 upazilas of the district.
