KHDC Chairman Monindra wants 4-party alliance ticket

Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) chairman Monindra Lal Tripura yesterday expressed his intention to contest the upcoming polls with BNP led-4 party alliance ticket. He announced this at a press conference held at his Kadamtali residence here. He said he would give the seat to BNP as a gift if the party high command nominates him. He sought support of party leaders and activists at the grassroots level. Regarding his earlier arrest, he urged a neutral investigation through formation of a neutral judicial inquiry committee. The investigation conducted by police might be influenced by their high officials, he feared. Terming his arrest 'politically motivated', he expressed his determination to face rivals politically. Monindra Lal Tripura was arrested in Dhaka on October 31 for his alleged involvement in murder of former KHDC councilor Anupom Tripura. He was granted bail by the district judge court on November 16. He was released from Dhaka Central Jail on November 19.
