25 shops gutted in Panchagarh
At least 25 shops were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Tepokharia Bazar in Boda upazila in Panchagarh yesterday afternoon.
The fire originated from a hotel, Fire Brigade sources and locals said. Soon it engulfed the adjacent shops.
On information, fire fighters from Panchagarh rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after one and a half hours' frantic effort with the help of locals.
Property worth about Tk 50 lakh was destroyed, shop owners claimed.
Boda Police Station officer-in-charge confirmed the incident saying he had visited the spot along with the local Union Parisad (UP) chairman.
