Iajuddin violates constitution?

Md. Nowsher Ali, UBL, Sylhet
President Iajuddin Ahmed violated the constitution by not ensuring national elections within 90 days after the drastically changed scene of January 2007. All right, it is correct according to the constitution. But what about some other factors involved? If Iajuddin had managed the elections after 90 days, how would it be possible for our country to have a genuine voter list along with national ID without which fair election would have been impossible? It would never be possible to remove fake voters for which the Awami League was reluctant to participate in the election. The earlier voter list was fake and the BNP was trying to cheat the country. Democracy means free and fair elections. If Iajuddin had arranged a sudden election at the time actual democracy would not be the outcome. At that time a concerted campaign was necessary to lead our country towards freedom from corruption. Today, as we have seen, the political culture has changed for the better and all politicians have learned from their past. Honourable President Iajuddin Ahmed did not commit a wrong. His actions were, in one sense, with regard to the constitution and for the people.
