Western materialism
I am writing in response to Alamgir Khan's "The world house'' published in The Daily Star on 8 July 2008.
It is now clear that materialism has taken out happiness from western affluent society. Their economists and sociologists have failed because of the black hole in materialism and consequent wrong policy making. We are concerned because our society isn't immune to western philosophy to be imported indiscriminately.
We think abolition of geographical borders of currently defined '”countries” may be a better solution in conjunction with encouragement of inter -racial marriage, so called royal or unroyal, Aryan , non Aryan, Caucasians and non-Caucasians. Those two steps will ensure world's wealth distribution in a logical way, solve current food problems, poverty of the countries in Africa and Asia may be eradicated .Science like Genetics also favour inter racial mixing of chromosomes(ref. Hardings Laws).Dalailama supported that indirectly.
Unfortunately, most of western think tanks are mysteriously silent on above possibilities, which amounts to indifference to problems for both rich and poor.
On top of that there is a possibility of solution of Obesity and Depression which is killing the western affluent society. Nature is taking revenge for inequality of wealth distribution, not only in the environment but with social indexes of happiness. Don't you think they are a by-product and consequence of socio-economic failure? The US oriented DSM iv classification is another criminal classification, trying to spread American disease to the whole world. You want more examples of social and medical terrorism??
As a conscious citizen of Planet Earth it's time for addressing not only the environment issue but other variables, which have been avoided by politicians, economists and sociologists, amounting to crime and lack of social obligation. I am inviting conscious columnists, politicians, sociologists, philosophers from both the East and West to think about all such matters
