Consumers harassed

Recently, Dhaka Wasa office located at Fakirapool issued disconnection notices showing non-payment of Wasa bills to a good number of consumers of Bangla motor-New Eskaton area, Dhaka. Many consumers rushed to Wasa office and discovered that Wasa did not receive the bill payment confirmation copy from the Wasa designated bank. The Wasa official concerned solved the issue promptly against production of bill payment copies. Who is responsible for this type of harassment in the context of Digital Bangladesh, E-governance, changing days or so slogans? Should not the banks, especially Bangladesh Bank, look into it seriously by arranging compensation for the consumers?
