Holocaust and Israel

Six million Jews were killed or perished otherwise in Europe during the Second World War. The whole thing is identified as holocaust. President Obama during his famous Cairo discourse cited the matter as the root of sufferings of all Jews. He also touched upon the plight Palestinians are suffering in the hands of the Zionist state of Israel. But why this analogy? Holocaust took place in Europe, not in Jerusalem and by the German Nazis not related to Palestinians anyway. Holocaust is a historic crime and perpetrators were duly punished at the end of the war. So for the crimes of Christian dictator Adolph Hitler, why should the Muslims of the Middle East suffer?
