Failed cricketers
Having miserably failed to hit back at the cricket ball during the last World Cup preliminaries; Ashraful can now only hit back at words, which is all that he can do since he can't hit the ball with the cricket bat any more!
Any fool can hit a word for a six. The job for which the players of the BCB team are paid is to hit the ball effectively and hit the wicket with the ball. The answer to the foolish and irresponsible play by the captain, all that he is now good for, is to dump him from the team; the sooner, the better! This is the first step the BCB has to take, before anything else.
The popular saying is "an ounce of performance is better than a thousand words". Ashraful and some of the players are now good for "the thousand words" only. As for the others in the team, lest they forget that in the highly skilled world of competitive international professional cricket our bunch of players, with some exceptions (who should not become swell-headed) are rank amateurs and greenhorns-- amply shown by Ireland! Either they put up or shut up and see that they perform and not just go by promises alone!
The next series of international matches should be the end, where we draw the line. Either the cricket team performs or we voluntarily surrender our "Test Playing Status", which is now nothing more than a joke! We have wasted enough money on this bunch of no-doers and all-talkers. Let them go back to the arena of "cricket talking" off the field. They should be ashamed of their performance, and not think of anything else but playing better for survival. BCB must draw the line, and stop wasting sponsor's and public money behind this bunch of non-performers.
